In June 2019, Funders’ Committee Action Fund (FCAF) launched to provide the philanthropic community a new way to engage with and develop programming and strategies on civic engagement. FCAF shares its vision with that of the Funders’ Committee for Civic Participation (FCCP): a society where impacted communities have the power to make a difference on issues that affect their lives, a culture of participation that inspires their engagement, and an open and equitable democracy which offers meaningful opportunities to exercise their voice. 

Civic engagement and participation are not only the work of public charities. Achieving a robust, inclusive democracy requires all the tools in the toolbox. FCAF provides a more complete picture of the civic engagement funding ecosystem and strategies. By offering funders opportunities to convene, learn, and align funding strategies that include lobbying and electoral work, philanthropy can become more coordinated and effective.
